Protocol Management - Open/Close SMTP Port

Publisher: Psychz Networks,  March 05,2025

The Protocol Management feature allows you to open or close the SMTP (Port 25) protocol for email communication on your desired server.

Enabling the Feature

To enable this feature for the first time, you need to submit a request via a support ticket. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Access the Dashboard

Log in to your account using your credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to Your Device

  1. Click on ‘Devices’ under ‘Service/Devices’ in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on the magnifying glass icon under the ‘Action’ column to access the desired device.

Step 3: Submit a Ticket for Protocol Management

  1. Click the ‘Open’ icon under ‘Action’ next to Protocol Management.
  2. A ticket creation form will open with pre-filled details, including Department, Subject, and Server-Service.
  3. Enter your request message and click ‘Create’ to submit the ticket.

Once submitted, our support team will process your request and enable the feature. After receiving a confirmation, revisit the Protocol Management section to verify that it is enabled.

Steps to Open the SMTP Port

  1. Access Protocol Management
    • Navigate to the Device Details page and click on the "Protocol Management" button to access the module.
  2. Open the Port
    • Click on the "Open" button under the Action column to initiate the request.
    • Note: By default, the port status appears as "Closed". The "Open" action may take a few minutes to execute.

Activity Logs

Once the action is performed, an entry will be recorded in the Activity Logs, capturing the following details:

  • Activity: Action performed (Open/Close)
  • Date: Timestamp of execution
  • IP Address: Source IP from which the action was performed
  • Executed By: Account name that initiated the action
  • Status: Executed / Failed / Pending
