  • What is Colocation?

colocation, colocation shipping cost, colocation access, psychz colocation, colocation hardware

What is colocation? How is it different from dedicated server hosting? What advantages are there when it comes to colocation? What kind of savings can one expect when colocating a server with Psychz?

Colocation is a service that allows you to place your own server equipment within the provider's data center. This gives you the physical space for your server, the internet connection and the electrical power for the server.

If you own the hardware, colocation makes perfect sense. With the colocation you just pay for the space, bandwidth and electricity cost. You are not renting the servers, so each month you will save the renting fees. Plus you have more control over the hardware when you are colocating. You can use any hardware based on your requirements.

A dedicated server on the other handis bascially renting a server at the datacenter. The monthly rental fee includes bandwidth, power, hardware cost, support etc.
