FTP Settings

Publisher: Psychz Networks,  August 09,2021

This module allows you to define and configure FTP settings that connect to your server to extract the logs.

Domains

Choose the domain name for which you would like to extract the log reports.

Templates

This feature allows you to create and save multiple copies of settings of which you can Associate or Load one as per your requirement. This saves you a lot of time and can help improve efficiency.
Once you create a template, it should appear in the dropdown menu. To know how to create a template please follow the article https://www.psychz.net/client/kb/en/how-to-create-a-template-for-ftp-settings-.html

You can choose from following two options Associate or Load

Associate - Use this option to manage the FTP settings with a template that can be applied to different domains and updated via the device settings page.

Load - Use this option to load the settings quickly and still manage the FTP settings on the individual domain level.

Protocol

By default, the system will choose FTP as the system only allows FTP connection for now.

IP Address : The "IP Address" setting is the address of your FTP server, whether specified as an IP address or a URL.

Port : The "Port" setting specifies on which port the FTP server listens for new control connections. Typically, port 21 is used to initiate nonsecure and explicitly secure FTP connections, and port 990 is used to initiate implicitly secure FTP connections. However, the port(s) that the server listens on for FTP connections can be any port not already reserved for another service, and the server administrator also configures this.

Login : The "Login" setting specifies the account's username to be used when logging into the FTP server.

Password : The "Password" settings specify the account password to be used when logging into the FTP server. Note that Presentation currently only supports passwords using ASCII characters. Passwords are encrypted before they are saved to an experiment file to maintain their security.

Note: Click on the "Test Connection" button to verify if the details provided by you are correct.

Path (FTP Path)

Provide the location where you want the system to dump all the log files for you. For example "your_domain/logfiles/"

File Configuration

File Name : Specify the file name. The system will create log files with a prefix that you specify under the "filename."

Records Per File : You can specify the number of records the system must capture and dump it in the logfile at a specified instance. The system allows following number of records 10,000; 50,000; 1,00,000 ; 5,00,000.

File Compression : The size of the log files can be huge depending on the number of parameters and the records you choose. Apply compression to the files to optimize the size of the downloadable file. Following are the available compression techniques Bzip2, Gzip, Xz, Zip.

Schedule

You can choose the frequency of log file generation under this option. They are ranging from 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours.

FTP Columns

This allows you to select and define the columns (parameters) of the log report. You can add, delete, and organize the parameter sequence that appears in your CSV log report.
