  • Brazil Dedicated Servers + DDoS Protection

I am curious how DDoS protection works per server in Brazil. Is there any packet per second limit for DDoS mitigation?  Can you also tell me the difference between Traffic Diversion Method (Trigger Based) and Inline Method (Always-On)?  Will there be any network performance issue with either method?

No there is absolutely no packet per second limit for DDoS mitigation at any of our POPs worldwide. We provide protection against all known attacks, with a guaranteed minimum of 10 Gbps and 6,000,000 packets per second Heuristic based DDoS mitigation, enabling complete defense against all known and “zero day” threats 99.9% guaranteeing the highest level of availability assurance.

Once the attacks reach our network, we apply Access Control List Rules ( ACLs) blocking traffic at the edge of our network. The second stage of mitigation involves inspecting and analyzing each packet ensuring no malicious, service disrupting traffic makes it through to our clients.

We also have anycast DDOS systems that help us to direct traffic to multiple locations allowing our systems to utilize the "divide and conquer" method. More options of scrubbing POPs allows our GRE tunnels to reach your data center with less latency.

In Traffic Diversion Method (Trigger Based) the traffic is rerouted away from its target, either to be filtered or completely discarded. We use this method and strongly recommend as we pass the traffic through scrubbers which filter Layer 3, 4, or 7 attacks. This is usually done when the incoming traffic is unusual and causes a trigger to divert the traffic.

On the other hand, the Inline method (Always on) performs scrubbing all the time on every data that is coming in monitoring malicious network packets based on their header content, size, type, point of origin, etc. This is usually not recommended as it causes lag or otherwise impacting legitimate users.

We hope your question has been satisfactorily answered. In case you want to know more about our DDoS service, please visit https://www.psychz.net/ddos-mitigation.html
