  • How much does it cost to run a game server?

I would like to get a game server but wondering how much does it cost to run one?  Please recommend something affordable.  CPU core speeds matter a lot along with low latency routes.

Our customers love recommending Psychz Networks as one of the best Hosting service providers because of our quality network, support, and affordable pricing. At Psychz, we have a lot of customers who run several types of games on their server.

To run a game server, it doesn't cost much. However, what type of game would you like to run on it and the number of players that will connect would matter to define the type of hardware the server should have.

The second most important factor that would go into consideration is the location of your users that would connect to the server. Having the server in the same location of your user will help to reduce the latency. Also, location is another factor that would lead to addition to the cost.

For starters, you can go with a basic configuration of the server that would cost less

CPU: E3-1230 V3
Memory: 16GB
Storage: 256GB SSD (for better read/write performance compared to SATA drive)

Apart from the above, you will need to choose the bandwidth that you would need depending on your usage.
All our dedicated servers come with a free DDoS protection up to 2Gbps. At any point, if you feel you need higher protection level, you can upgrade your plan to 10/40/100 Gbps or above plan.

Please go through our live inventory to choose the required hardware along with the location of your choice https://www.psychz.net/dashboard/client/web/order/dedicated-server?processor=&processorBaseFreq=&numberOfCpu=7391&cpuCores=&location=

For network speed or latency test you can test the network of each location through our looking glass
