Why should one choose a dedicated server for gaming instead of a vps or a cloud server?  How are they better for gaming?

The gaming environment demands high performance, dependability, and availability. The most notable requirements for the gaming environment are ultrafast performance and minimum latency. Considering these criteria one does not need to be an expert to understand that these can only be fulfilled by dedicated servers. In spite of the advent of cloud servers or VPS hosting, the gold standard for gaming remains to be dedicated servers.

Choosing dedicated servers gives you the freedom to choose and configure hardware as per your need. Choosing a high performing processor with overclocking capability like i7-7700K can be super beneficial to your requirement. The operating frequency of i7-7700k is 4.2GHz which is higher than i7 4770k. But when the turbo mode is activated, the operating frequency will jump to 4.5GHz. The i7-7700k is known for superior overclocking capabilities, which is perfect for gamers. The i7 7700K is a much better choice with Higher operating frequency, Better clocking possibilities, Better memory bandwidth.

A dedicated server is better than a VPS or a cloud server in many ways. It will offer you better CPU performance as all the resources of a dedicated server are assigned and utilized only by you. Whereas in a VPS the resources are shared and this may affect the over performance of your server depending on other user's usage. The main reason that you will want to have a dedicated server is the simple fact that it will provide better overall performance for those who connect to it. Too many games today use something known as a “peer-to-peer” connection, and in theory, this could be workable. However, you will find that the games are not consistent at all. The game will look for the “best host”, but that doesn’t always mean that they find a good one. The result is a game that can sometimes become unplayable.

Speed and performance could also be the foremost vital factors in a game server and should be comfortable to avoid disrupting the sport with lag or latency. The server must be powered by high-quality hardware, together with SSDs, and it must be hosted on a network with strong infrastructure and Tier one network suppliers to confirm adequate bandwidth. The dedicated game servers take full guarantee of providing fast setup, full root access, better security, better efficiency, low latency and many more. For better gaming business and good growth, deploying a dedicated game server would be a better option.

Further, you can choose a higher configuration by upgrading the CPU, bandwidth, Storage, etc. as per your requirement by paying a fixed monthly cost. You can also do this with a cloud server but the cost of doing so is much higher and is calculated as per usage. So in case, there are a higher number of players connected more than usual, your billing will overshoot your monthly prediction. This can be easily avoided using a dedicated server.
