  • Calculate IP address range from subnet

Posted By: Chris | 1 Replies | Last Reply On: Aug 30, 2018 01:00:12

Lets say the IP address is 192.168.0.3 and subnet is 255.255.255.248.  How can I use this information to calculate the IP address range?  I am trying to figure out the usable range.

As per the information provided in your question, you can easily find out the usable IP ranges of the given IPv4 range using our "Subnetting Made Easy" article.

https://www.psychz.net/client/kb/en/ipv4-subnetting-made-easy.html

As per the charts are given in the article the netmask 255.255.255.248 belongs to /29. Which means you have a total of 5 usable IP addresses.

Your usable IP Address range would be

192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.6

Please refer to the article mentioned above and you should be able to resolve any subnetting related issue in the future.
